Are you ready for a whirlwind adventure? As an Erasmus student with limited time, you can still make the most of a weekend trip to Lake Balaton with ESN Szeged.
Day 1: Saturday - Morning Departure from Szeged 🚈🌞
Rise and shine early on Saturday morning and take the trains for our Lake Balaton adventure.
The journey to Lake Balaton takes around 4 hours, and the scenic route will provide beautiful views along the way.
Arrive at our chosen destination on the northern shore of Lake Balaton around noon.
Enjoy a quick but delicious lakeside lunch with local dishes.
In the afternoon, visit some of the charming towns and attractions around the lake. Tihany, with its famous abbey and lavender fields, or Badacsony, known for its vineyards.
Savor the Balaton sunset with a lakeside dinner and a glass of local wine.
Go to the accommodation.
Day 2: Sunday - Morning and Afternoon Fun 🏖️🏰🚣♂️
Wake up, have some breakfast and do a bit of hiking if you are interested. If not, we will give you some other options which you can enjoy.
Have lunch at a traditional Hungarian restaurant.
Evening Return to Szeged 🚈🌇
After your last few hours of Balaton fun, it's time to head back to Szeged.
Depart in the late afternoon to make the most of your Sunday.
Arrive back in Szeged on Sunday evening, recharged and full of memories from your quick but unforgettable Lake Balaton getaway.
This fast-paced weekend trip allows you to experience the beauty and fun of Lake Balaton, even with limited time.
What to Bring:
👟 Comfy shoes
🧳 Extra clothes and basic toiletries (toothpaste, soap, etc.)
🇭🇺 Hungary Pass
🎓 Student ID
🌞 Good vibes
When: 🗓️ Nov 4th - Nov 5th, 2023
Price: 💰 6000 HUF per person for accommodation.
If you don't have a Hungary Pass, you will have to get your own ticket.
